Rarely has a team come together in the way the Lions of Loyola Marymount did in 1990.

Just days before the tournament, star player Hank Gathers collapsed during a West Coast Conference tournament game and died.

To honor his friend and teammate, Bo Kimble would shoot his first free throw of each game left-handed – and make them all.

An emotionally charged Lions team roared to the Elite 8, including a record-setting win over Michigan in which Jeff Fryer hit a tournament record 11 three-pointers.
