Wake Forest soccer star Katie Stengel is this week’s spotlight athlete.

The junior forward has already been named a two-time All-American and was the leading ACC scorer in her freshman and sophomore seasons.

She was also a key player for the victorious U.S team that beat Germany to win the Under-20 Women’s World Cup earlier this month in Japan.

Also, Kevin Kugler has the stats on the record number of student-athletes participating in NCAA athletics in the 2011-12 academic year.
