This week’s Sunday Night Football game promises to be an interesting one. When the 49ers host the Lions, it’ll mark the first meeting between the teams since coaches Jim Harbaugh and Jim Schwartz engaged in a war of words after last year’s San Francisco win at Ford Field.

Overzealous handshakes aside, the game should provide decent viewing as it matches one of the league’s most explosive offenses in Detroit against one of its stingiest defenses in the 49ers.

One of the cogs of San Francisco’s tough D is Justin Smith, who spoke with our Scott Graham ahead of the game.
