LONDON – It was a great Saturday for the host nation of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Great Britain captured 6 gold medals – the most in a single day since the 1908 Games, which also took place in London. The victories included two in rowing, another in cycling and three in track and field.
At the Olympic Stadium, Jessica Ennis captured the heptathlon, Mo Farah won the 10,000 meters and Greg Rutherford was victorious in the long jump.
