Full Interview: Baylor Head Coach Kim Mulkey

DENVER, CO – Even with a national title to her credit in 2005, Baylor’s Kim Mulkey has spent her coaching career striving to reach the heights of coaching contemporaries Geno Auriemma and Pat Summitt.

But if all goes as planned for the Lady Bears this weekend, Mulkey will take a giant step forward towards forging her own status as an elite coach in the women’s game.

With the towering, 6’8″ Brittney Griner leading the charge, Mulkey is two wins away from not only claiming a second national championship, but also from becoming the first coach in the history of college basketball – men’s or women’s – to lead a team to a 40-win season.

Debbie Antonelli caught up with Mulkey ahead of the Lady Bears’ national semifinal showdown against Stanford, as Baylor looks to take another step closer to an historic 40-0 record.
