Women’s Regional Final Preview: (1) Baylor vs. (2) Tennessee

03/26/2012

DES MOINES, IA – Mike Corey and Brenda VanLengen will be on hand to call the Des Moines Regional Final at Wells Fargo Arena on the Westwood One Radio Network.

It’s not often we find Tennessee as an underdog, but that’s the unfamiliar position the powerhouse program finds itself in as the Lady Vols take on the undefeated Baylor Bears, the consensus #1 team in the nation. The Bears are led by 6’8″ center Brittney Griner, who has made headlines for throwing down dunks in each of the Bears’ previous two victories. She is looking to lead Baylor to the school’s second national title, after winning it all in 2005.

But the Bears will first have to get through the all-time winningest program in women’s basketball history, as Tennessee has eight national titles to their credit, most recently winning it all in 2008.

Here’s Mike and Brenda with a preview of the games and big stories from Des Moisnes…
