Florida’s Billy Donovan: Full Interview on Facing Louisville

03/24/2012

PHOENIX, AZ – A quarter-century ago, Billy Donovan led an unheralded Providence team through a stunning NCAA Tournament run, as the Friars captivated the sports world with a trip to the Final Four.

The head coach of that team was a young Rick Pitino…the same man who now stands in the way of Donovan chasing a third national title as Florida Gators head coach.

The two men will put their friendship aside for 40 basketball minutes when the Gators battle the Louisville Cardinals in the West Regional final, with a trip to the Final Four up for grabs.

Dave Sims caught up with Donovan ahead of the big game against his former mentor, Pitino.
